The Cathedral of Christ the Light: The Making of a 21st Century Cathedral - Signed Copy.
The Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland, CA, completed in 2008, examines the meaning of a cathedral at the dawn of the third millennium and its implications for sacred space and architectural form. Designed by Craig W. Hartman of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, it combines ancient geometries drawn from nature and early Christian metaphors with the most contemporary methods of computational design t9783034607995o create a luminous, welcoming structure. This richly illustrated monograph presents the first cathedral to be designed and built entirely in the twenty-first century. We currently have available a limited number of copies signed by Craig Hartman of SOM. All proceeds from these copies will go to SF MOMA's Architecture + Design program.
